Richard F. Priest Memorial Area

This short hike takes you through a wooded area with a few hills. It then connects to a loop trail with great views of Knops Pond, Springy Pond, and Sargisson Beach. Along the loop trail there are several large granite picnic tables overlooking the Ponds. Richard Priest was the first Chairman of the Groton Conservation Commission and this parcel was donated by his father, Donald.

History

The parcel was donated by Donald Priest in memory of Richard Priest, the first chairman of the Groton Conservation Commission in 1989. The land for the monument was donated by Robert Lacombe.
