Hazel Grove Park

Best known as the location of the former Groton Fairgrounds but now called Hazel Grove Park. One mile total of all loops.

Hazel Grove Park is an Equestrian Park that includes a ½-mile training track. Hazel Grove Park is home to both the Groton Riding and Driving Club that was founded in 1932 and the Groton Pony Club that was founded in 1957. The track is for the exclusive use of the Groton Riding and Driving Club and should not be used at any time.

Size: 28 acres

Owner: Town of Groton, managed by the Groton Parks Commission.

History

Donated by William P. Wharton in 1940 as part of the Farmers and Mechanics Club Site. The Hazel Grove Agricultural Association was formed in 2011 to manage the day-to-day operations of the Hazel Grove Park.

Directions

Main entrance is at end of Jenkins Road. Some parking is available near the trailhead.

This parcel sits along the Nashua River, and connects the old Groton Fairgrounds (now Hazel Grove Park) and the Taisey Conservation Restriction to the Noonan Woods and Gratuity Rd. Wooded parcel with riverbank trail, main trail, and a loop trail.  All single track.
