Hayes Woods
A forested tract in West Groton that features a rolling landscape of pine and hardwoods, offering a Nature Walk loop.
The trail winds through a mix of red maple, white pine, and hemlock stands. Extensive wetlands. The interpretive nature walk along the loop trail, which runs along the top of an esker and skirts a beaver pond, which is often visited in season by osprey, eagles and herons. Several logging trails extend off of the main loop.
