Williams Barn-Sorhaug Woods

The Bruce Clements Trail starts at the Williams Barn and ends with a loop trail adjacent to Brooks Orchard.  On this loop, one passes by many large white pines that were pushed over by a microburst (wind shear) in May 2020.

History

Williams Barn circa 1840

On this spot in 1670, Thomas and Mary Williams (Holden) started a farm on 250 acres. The Williams were farmers, wheelwrights, teamsters, and provision dealers. In 1997 a group of dedicated townspeople including three generations of the Wyatts (Williams), helped restore the Williams Barn and its outbuildings
